Summary

In the horror story "The Monkey's Paw," the White family acquires a cursed talisman that grants three wishes, twisting them to punish those who interfere with fate. They first wish for £200, receiving it as compensation when their son is tragically killed in a machinery accident. Blinded by grief, the mother forces her husband to wish their son back to life. When terrifying knocks suddenly echo at their door, the horrified father uses his final wish to send the resurrected corpse back to the grave, leaving the parents staring out at an empty street.
